#7 Micheleff Randal – Dead (RIP)
Some games you turn up, and you know it just isn't going to be your day. Rohan Flame, niggled in his first game, decided not to turn up for his second. He was wiser than me.

The luck rating is technically accurate - particularly when you take into account the number of doubleskulls the Amazons rolled. But, playing a superior coach, the Mentalists needed luck to go there way. Instead, they failed key rolls and were punished with injuries and unhelpful kick-off results.

The game began with the Amazons rolling a determined cage down the middle of the pitch. With Dr Thranst taking an early trip to the injury bin, leap-blitzing duties were left to Mandae. A series of 1db and -2db failed to give him the arrow he needed to strip the ball loose, and by turn 5 Mandae was KO'd. He never returned.

Coward.

Desperate blocking from an outplayed and dwindling team almost cost the stalling Dragon Guards their TD, but a Turn 8 double-dodge and ball grab in multiple TZ's meant a 1-0 score for the Amazons. A fair result after a very one-sided first half.

The second half kicked off with the 8 man Elfs suffering a Blitz! With the ball only a few squares from the LOS the Amazons were able to pour through the middle of the pitch and surround it, killing Micheleff Randal in the process. After a skull-reroll-skull block from the Dark Elves, the Amazons were left with a simple drive for the second TD.

With KO recoveries (but, once more, no Ag5 Leaper Mandae), the Dark Elves went for a quick score again, this time making a decent stab of it. Using Mad Hettie and Bitesy (seriously injured thanks to the only block of the turn) as a distraction, the Mentalists rolled a cage away from the massed Amazons. Some good blocking and a couple of 2+ dodges put the Har Ganeth team within 2 GFIs of the score. The first GFI was made with ease, but the second saw the overconfident Ypshin suffer from a poorly-timed case of "slippy feet". Snake eyes were followed by doublesix, but fortunately he was only stunned.

Well, not the end of the world and . . .
the ball went where, you say?
Into the crowd?
And they threw it all the way down the other end of the pitch?

Although unable to actually reach the Amazons stood happily around the scattered ball, the Mentalists did not give up. They GFI'd just to get close (making every single damn roll) and whilst their last-ditch desperate blitz-dodge into 3 TZs failed, a dropped catch stopped the Dragon Guards from adding a last turn 3rd score.

The Mentalists would almost certainly have lost anyway, but it would have been nice to have them lose because their coach is less skilled than the MIghty Harley-Topper, instead of losing because God hates me.

FF goes down, an unrecovered RIP and SI, only 1SPP and the MVP, no skills. Not a great day in Har Ganeth, but they fight on. Only Orcs are left to complete the ELF cycle.
