Rain poured through much of the match and the Very Vikings struggled with ball handling. Down 0-1, the clouds parted to reveal a blistering sun which sapped the energy from the Vikings, being more comfortable in cooler temperatures of their homeland. They were unable to hold out the Amazons, who went in to lead 0-2 but it was not without a struggle.
In the dying seconds of the match the Norse got a touchback from a bad kick and made a charge down the left flank. Njord Gunnar scrambled over the line just before the final hooter.
