I got a few very good handicaps; Illegal Drugs; (+ST on the new puppy) and Morley's Revenge (3 players even if never more than 1 failed to show) plus palmed coin & bribe the ref 2.
I opted to receive but nothing was smooth. None of my plans survived the harsh encounter with reality. He KO'd my ghoul and BH's a wight (not the guard one) An increasing amount of pressure resulted in the end in the Orcs stealing the ball close to their endzone but a few blocks and a blitz with the new puppy later knocked over the lucky Orc whom caught the ball a turn earlier and the wolf picked it up easily.
Not even breaking a sweat nor burning a re-roll. 1-0
His drive was stopped in it's tracks when the Orcs underestimated the Golem blitzing their ball-carrier from behind leaving the troll whom was supposed to guard him scratching it's belly in disbelief. With the ball-carrier knocked over and 3 of my players around it he still came very close to scoring, pushing away or knocking over 2 of my players, picking up the ball under the smelly breath of my wolf and trying to pass it over his head.
'fetch' I shouted and he intercepted it. (wheeheee!)
2nd half he received and immediately the fans invaded the pitch bullying the ref out of sight. The Orcs decided to use that fact and fouled a player off the pitch and KO-ing another.
I decided to ignore the ball mostly and take out his dp. I did just a bit too good. After knocking him over I killed him straight away and thus the apo was used. A few turns later I was clearing the pitch faster then he was thus forcing him to score. Albeit with a single gfi with no RR.
I had 4 turns to get the lead. My blitz KO'd a player and the troll was fouled off the pitch. The Necro's rampaged downfield full throttle and never let go of the throat's they were ripping. And in the dying moments of the match Ystlegogt, one of the rookie ghouls, scored his first touchdown, stealing the victory.
Zothulog, the dirty player-zombie later explained to the crowding press that his ears had fallen off in the scrap and he had heard no shouts from the coach to stop. Al he did was obey the last orders of the Necromancer. The Orcs started the fouling and he should finish it. Thus he did.
(No need to worry fans; a simple spell restored his ears!)
