“A very close game. The Guardians started in offence, but were soon down a TD as the Tiny Explosions threw their Legendary Sick of Goodbyes deep into Guardians territory where the plucky fellow sacked the Guardians thrower and stole the ball!
The Guardians were able to flatten Sick of Goodbyes, but then failed to pick up the ball, allowing the Gobbo a chance to score which he did with ease.
The Guardians then played cautiously, and used a cage to deliver their first TD (I had burned all 3 of my rerolls in the first 4 turns thanks to double skulls, some as early as block 2 on my turn).
The Tiny Explosions attempted a Throw Team Mate TD play next, but the runner was tackled just short of the end zone. The Guardians then recovered the ball and scored to take a 2-1 lead into the second half.
The second half started with a riot that took almost 3 quarters of the game time to quell, giving the Explosions a chance to secure a draw.
Despite the Guardians putting extreme pressure on the Explosions, they managed to dodge with an Ogre, then throw a Gobbo down field where he made 3 dodges to score an equaliser!
The Guardians had a chance to score a winning TD on a touchback, but a second riot ended the game there and then.
Thousands of disgusted fans from both sides who had not taken part in the rioting tore up their season tickets in protest.
--------------
Damn... bloody riots. I was feeling confident in the second half as I had my full team, and Mnemon had lost his superstar player, but the riot screwed up both our plans. First half was pretty much a rightoff. My players couldn't block for sh1t, and with all my rerolls gone, I wasn't going to throw with his 2 AG 4 Gobbos lurking around.
Oh well, them's the dice! A fun game nethertheless.”
