After a while a few skellies down and out the extra man (orc?) and added speed (novelty for my ladz! outrunning oppo!) made the difference.
The second half his drive immediately grounded to a halt when my Orcs, angry at the (apo'd) death of their BOB smacked 2 skels out of the pitch.
These numbers proved too much. In the end the thro-ra tried to get away and failed. MY ST4 blitzer smacked some bony head and picked it up, only to graciously allowing the other (rookie) thrower to score later that half.
