“The match-up between Backstab Gang vs Crackmania was one of two teams with diametrically opposite strategies of how to build a Bloodbowl team. The Backstab Gang decided to spend its payroll on expensive Positional players, while sacrificing money spent on coaching & practice facilities (low rerolls). While Crackmania went with a entire roster of beastmen, spending a sizable amount on thier head coach and training camps (high rerolls).
The game started badly for Crackmania, as the were kicking to the Backstab gang, a fan riot erupted and laid down 5 Crackmania players (one BG player was also stunned in the incident). Word on the street is that the Backstab Gang faithful went mad with rage when Crackmania bench mooned the crowd (showing thier name-sake, crack)... With so many Crackmaniacs on the ground, Witch Elf Blitzer, Ethel Rosenburg danced into the Endzone. The remainer of the half played like a comedy of errors, with neither team being able to get momentuum (lots of failed rolls)
The second half was a continuation of the first, with lost of jockying, but little scoring. Near the end of the half, the ball was knocked into the crowd and was thrown back onto the pitch close to the Backstab Gang's endzone. It looked like Crackmania would be able to score for the tie (since the Backstab was, to and elf, too far away from the ball to even get close). What happened next will surely be remembered for Backstab faithful for years to come. Crackmania was unable to pick up the ball on two consequative trys, along with an fumbled pass to clear the ball by the Backstab Gang. At the last moment (turn 8), the Backstab gang was able to blitz away a lone beastman, grab the ball, and pass to a waiting Backstab receiver Ephialtes, who ran in for the last second touchdown.”
