The Vanguard really are on a roll this season with another absolute perler with a brazen and disdainful performance against the old giants of the league - the Zen Adepts!

More of the surprisingly lethal hits they've been dishing out, and the Adepts really found themselves cursed by nuffle. Three casualties (niggle, rip and rip) and all against the Adepts' two star players. And *that* pretty much decided the game as it took out the Adepts' try scoring machine. Kudos to Flo who plugged on through the match grimly despite the curtains having been raised on his lads' season prospects. It was looking like being an exciting divisional tussle until this game.

But, lest we forget the game report! It wasn't the perfect performance that they had against the Wickermen. Lining up for the game, the Iceman (Ice Warden) complained about his niggle *again*! Since becoming nimble (+AG) he's turned rather paraodoxically into a decrepit old elf who grumbles like a dwarf. Then the whistle blew and the kickoff caught the Vanguard still distracted by the Iceman and subject to a perfect defence from the Adepts. Two failed dodges later it was a rather quick turnover to the bearded greenies. Game on!

It quickly turned into a scrap with the ball changing hands a couple of times - the Adepts halfgobs showing the dark elves how to do those dodges and 1 die blitzes! The first four turns was a tense affair. Then Nyo'ei bit the dust and the elves ran away with it.

Curiously, a horrible dodging game is usually a disaster for the elves...but all it takes is two big hits and the elves can become as left-footed as they like!

Edit: Seems it was a round of fatalities for the old guard this week. Joining the Zen Adepts famous duo was Carlton's Flash Gordon. Are all the old champions past it!? ;)
