#7 Bitesy – Dead (RIP)
Great game.
I laughed, I cried, I threatened to drown kittens.

Back to 11 players, the Har Ganeth accidentally selected 'receive' after winning the toss. For the first and only time, the Psychotics had eleven men on an offensive drive.

I just didn't know where to put them.

The Ag5 guys came in good, and, after some crazy dodging, a simple 3 turn td was pulled off. A slow cage rolled whilst Spitestripper and newcomer (and, thanks to the handicap, Ironwoman) Jemima Faceripper distracted some of the ogres.

BHs and KOs wore the dark elves down (the goblins beat us up), and the end of the first half proved tough. Decent defense freed up the ball, but a snake-eyes dodge cost us a crucial second td. That was the first in a run of five straight ones which took us into the second half.

Bitesy died and was left to rot (he's been saved twice, he's a liability), which was fortunate as the apothecary was able to save Ridael from a niggle later on.

The Ogres marauded through the middle, POWing (it took until turn 2/7 for ultrabad to roll doubleskulls, and he *never* rolled double pow/skull - and his team had NO block, damn their eyes) my elves left, right and centre. I got in a few 2dblitzes on the ballcarrier, but never grabbed the elusive pow or pow/skull.

We struggled under the Ogre onslaught but luck *finally* gave us a shot. We grabbed the ball after a rerolled 1dblock only to see it snatched away after another snake-eyes dodge (the first roll of the turn again). The ball dropped handily on the TD line and little Batgob was able to make the simple 3+ pick-up for the score.

My luck was languishing in the low 40s and I was close to pathetic whining.

After my six men were Blitz!'ed on the following kick-off I was bitter. I wonder aloud if Nuffle hated me for drowning kittens, and that's when it all changed. As I now know, Nuffle *likes* drowning kittens.

The ball bounced out for a touchback, useful since I had 5 of my 6 men on the LOS. I used my Ag5 Teddy Spitestripper to dodge through the Ogre line and away to deep gobbo territory. My other dodgers - Elfheart and Jemima - joined him as cover and Jeran was able to use Leap to come in too. Athough he failed the final GFI, Jeran's prone body stopped the possibility of an Ogre blitz. Hurrah for falling over.

With his Ogres wildly out of position following the Blitz!, and Bonehead rolls suddenly failing, Ultrabad was unable to pin Teddy down. After KO-ing the nearest gobbo, and letting Elfheart tie up the other one, Spitestripper went for a little stall.

I accept those boos, but that one turn made all the difference. It left the Stomperz needing a TTM to score. A touchback helped (my Kicker had been BH'd in the first drive, and all of our kick-offs were touchbacks I think) but the passing Ogre was the only one to fail his Bonehead. Fortunate for me indeed (frantic offers to Nuffle to drown kittens may have helped here).

A really good, close game.
Back to ten players (FF roll +2 = 1, Money roll +2 = 1) after another low winnings, and the fans still hate me (3 -1 rolls, 5 +2 rolls, 1 +0 roll = -1 overall). But I'm very happy with the win.

Remember everyone - Nuffle loves drowned kittens.
