#8 bythosedamnrats – Dead (RIP)
This game started out very promisingly for Bash D, with a couple fo early skink CAS, but a two dice against knockover of bynorse, followed by a failed attempt to blitz the blodge skink soon turned all that around. Once it got to the point where the Saurus could play come get some around the ball, it was always going to go downhill for Bash D, who were undermanned in the Strength dept this game. The lack of knocking over Saurus when we got the opportunity didn't help much either.

We managed to equalise at the end of the first half, but when our two KO's stayed in the box, it was always going to be tough defending against those damned skinks.

In the second half, the skinks received and pretty much romped it in. We had a couple of difficult chances to dispossess them, and I dare say if either had come off, the score wuold have been reversed, but twas not to be. We tried a two dice against block to get a pushback and free up a Tackle Blitz on the blodge skink, but that didn't come off. We also later made a -2 dodge with a reroll, but the two dice Blitz with Tackle again failed to bring down the skink. After that, Faulcon played well and made sure we couldn't get a decent crack at any ball carrier.

The lowlight of the game came when bythosedamnrats was felled by a late Saurus blitz, but we got our revenge , killing Ssilh with the final action of the game. The bootprint in his head marking our disgust with out performance.

Twahnlow votes:

3 points - Xies-ler-aym - this skink was definitely the difference in this came, first of all with the crucial two dice against blitz that turned the game initially, followed by simply not being able to be knocked over later on. Simply the player we couldn't deal with.

1.5 each - Slilrl and Kysht - both of these ST5, Block, Guard Saurus created a lot of problems for me, easily tying up players I'd have liked to keep more mobile with their strength, and they were used to great effect while the game was still in the balance.

#2 Ssilh – Dead (RIP)
#12 Thchayoo – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#12 Thchayoo – Smashed Knee (NI)
11 Lizards showed up, then the krox was bailed up by some cops on a spurious charge invented by our opponents. 10 Lizards took the field including just 5 saurus. 2 turns later, it was 8 lizards as new recruit Thchayoo saw his career ended and fellow skink Stthsouayi was badly hurt. As so often has been the case though, Xies-ler-aym and Thshltraeeay combined to rescue the team from a bad spot. Using their agility and stunty size to the utmost they ducked and wove snatching the ball up and taking off for the endzone. Slilrl was given a scare just before Zbthreeoey received the hand off for the first score, fortunately our apothecary has had a lot of practice and remembered which part of the body to sew the head back onto.

Some good KO rolls kept the numbers relatively even at the return but the skinks were unable to prevent bythosedamned rats from setting up the equaliser before half time.

After the break the skinks were caught off balance when Bash D blitzed forward, but quickly recovered forcing a hole through the middle and angling for the sideline. From there they rolled forward, with a beastman killed trying to take down Ssilh. Ball safety was made paramount as the skinks gradually KOd several beastmen to bring their numbers down. After scoring in turn 8 the lizards lined up for the final kickoff secure in their victory, but were stunned by the ferocity showed by Bash D who woke up far too late. Shchlts was lucky to escape with a slight injury after being blocked but team mate Ssilh was not so fortunate. After withstanding the block, he succumbed to a dastardly boot just as the whistle was being blown.

Aside from the first two turns and the last turn I must say the skinks were quite lucky, but 3 turns is enough to set any team back. Both casualty sheets were somewhat unbalanced and losing 140k of players and 44 spp of unhurt saurus makes this somewhat less than a victory celebration.

3 points: ByKhemri - Block, Tackle, DP, and horns on the blitz. Everything my skinks hate seeing.
2 points: byfreakinggobbos - again, the combination of tackle and block was hell on skink... also managed two cas for the game.
1 point: bythosedamnrats - crucial to score their only touchdown.
