“Hard fought indeed. The Thunderers returned from high altitude training camp to find a tough 1st opponent in the WEMOAC waiting for them.
The Bullies received in the first half. Runner Pefil was knocked over in turn 4 but could recover the ball and make his way to score in turn 8. Pefil saved the day for the Bullies, dodging, running and picking up under pressure. Credit to him.
The Thunderers received in the second half. Runner Skinny knocked himself over trying to dodge for the equaliser in turn 4. The ball was free for a few turns as both teams tried to get more players around it. Troll Slayer Angry saved the day for the Thunderers, two times seeing his attacker doubleskull for a turnover when blocking him. Skinny could recover the ball and score in turn 7.
...and just when we were expecting overtime, the referee blew the final whistle. The Thunderers and the Bullies went out to get some ale and roasted pork and the WEMOAC continues.”

Both coaches were expecting overtime, then both felt a bit silly when they reread the group page!
Both team's runners played well, but I felt let down in my defence by rerolling blocks and getting double skulls... ah well.
