“The game was an incredible turn around. It started off incredibly well for me: I managed to get two cas in quickly and knock the ball loose. Through it all, Mezir complains about his bad luck, which is fair enough: he was being very unlucky. Nevertheless, he manages to pick up the ball again and score, though he continues to moan about how his team was doomed and he shouldn't have played my better team in the first place. Fair enough, I think, even though he is ahead, he's still in a very bad position.
That's when things turned around. In the second quarter, when I'm supposed to "easily" level 1-1, my attack hits a brick wall with two double skulls and with too little time left, I go into the second half still trailing.
Hmm. That wasn't supposed to happen. Yet Mezir still seems to be traumatised by the first half, so he doesn't concede that he's been fortunate. Well, whatever, let's see what the second half brings.
I manage to level 1-1 after burning two rerolls and scoring with my Dirty Player; somehow, things aren't as rosy for me as Mezir insists they are. But whatever, I've drawn, and I should still be able to at least prevent him from scoring in the last quarter.
Fat f*cking chance. A Pitch Invasion stuns two Blockers and both the Bull Centaurs. Mezir easily strolls in for a second touchdown, the ball carrier never even getting blocked. He doesn't stall, perhaps out of good sportsmanship, perhaps not wanting to risk losing the TD. Whichever, I'm left trailing AGAIN in a match that, according to my opponent, he was going to get massacred in.
So with two turns left and no rerolls, I have to pull off a TD. By some miracle of the dice, even though he manages to knock down the 3 SPP cow again to prevent it from getting a skill, the other Wondercow manages to dodge and pick up the ball to pull off a last turn draw.
Yes, Mezir was unlucky -- very unlucky for the first quarter. But when you continue whinging about your bad luck while your opponent is suddenly defeated by his own rolls, it becomes somewhat aggravating. In other words, dude, even you admitted that you should have lost. The dice gave you a draw, and on the final count 60% > 52%, so I think it's clear that when you complain to me about your bad luck, you're not being very objective.
Otherwise, thanks for the very challenging game and good luck with your next game -- though if you continue with your trend, I'm sure you'll pull off a draw despite the odds.”
