The orcs received in the first half, keeping the ball secure on the LOS for a few turns. Then suddenly Long Beard Heavy, buzzing with energy, opened the way to the ballcarrier with a jump up block. The surprised orc thrower was blitzed down and the Thunderer's star Runner Skinny picked up the ball. He broke free and headed for the end zone. The orcs gave chase, but in the end only Thrower Mirascael could reach Skinny for a 1d block. Mirascael pulled it together and brought Skinny down, ending the half 0-0.
The dwarves moved the ball more quickly upfield in their receiving half, with Skinny breaking for the end zone in turn 3. The orcs couldn't get a tackler on him and failed to bring him down. The Thunderers looked sure to score and moved the team forward to support Skinny...
...who failed the dodge into the end zone, knocking himself out! There was a wild scramble for the ball and eventually the Favourite's two goblins could emerge with the ball in hand. Goblin Eat (Hit) me! ran the ball all the way across the pitch to score in the last turn. The dwarves were naturally too fat to keep up with him.
