Yet another virus game so the Falcons Legend trio sat out again. To make things harder, the Falcons two best remaining players refused to play on the pitch together, with each claiming they were the best! (I Am the Greatest).
It looked ugly for the Falcons with a player injured early, and time run down on the first half clock with the scores at 1-1 and the Woodies with the ball deep with their star thrower.
However, the Woodies made a tactical mistake, not realising that their quarter back was in range for a blitz! A 3+ and 2+ dodge and 4 GFI later, he was sent packing to the KO bin and the Falcons stole the ball and scored to go into the long break with a 2-1 lead.
In the second half, the Falcons were dominant on defence, and the Woodies found themselves with no scoring options and the Falcons stole the ball and scored once more.
The Woodies found the going quite difficult in the second half with very little working, especially with quite a few players spending way too much time resting in the KO box (his AG6 Leaper failed 5 in a row I think). With too few players on the pitch, the Woodies hard, but could not cover all the Falcons who scored 3 times in the second half to seal a 5-2 victory.
----------
It was certainly a fun match though my opponent did have quite a few unlucky rolls particularly in the first part of the second half, and with his KO rolls, failing about 3 quarters of them at a guess.
Still, no one got permanently injured and we both got some dosh, so all in all, a great day out :). ”
