The game was pretty much won in the opening minutes when the Moosetamers blitzed and pushed deep, and the Hellbringers tripped whilst carrying the ball. The Moostamers were able to quickly pick up the ball and score.

On the next kickoff, the Hellbringer ball carrier tripped over a piece of grass again (and failed reroll again) and the Moosetamers again swarmed in, recovered the ball and scored to take a 2-0 lead only minutes into the game.

The Hellbringers on the next kickoff finally managed to keep the ball for more than 5 seconds and form a cage and deliver their first TD before the half time siren.

In the second half, the Moosetamers quickly squashed the Hellbringer line of scrimmage and sent several players into the opposing backfield. The Hellbringers could not cover all of the Dark Elves (especially since at least two had Nerves of Steel!) and the Moosetamers scored again to take a 3-1 lead.

The Hellbringers scored a second TD relatively quickly to give themselves a chance of drawing the game. The managed to swarm towards the ball carrier and knock the ball free just next to the sideline.

The Hellbringers then took a gamble and pushed a Moosetamer onto the ball instead of trying to pick it up with little room to move. The ball went out of bounds and ended up just short of the Hellbringers own end zone!

However, the Hellbringers pulled off a great (lucky) play to get to the ball, throw a long pass, then run and hand off downfield to be in a position to threaten a tying score. It was not to be however as the Moosetamers knocked the ball free and the Hellbringers failed to pick up the ball.

A fun game, but it was really lost in the opening 3 turns when I got blitzed and rolled a plethora of 1s on that opening drive, and then again on the next drive. With a CD team, it is very easy to get exposed because one doesn't have a lot of speedy players to cover gaps etc. Down 2-0 after 3 turns really made it hard.

In the second half, I had that chance to draw, and I might have if I had taken a few more risks on turn 7, but I already took a lot, with the 2 GFIs, pick up, long pass, catch, run, GFI and hand off to the Bull Centaur after I had already done other plays to get into that position. Putting my Bull Centaur one further out and thus having to GFI with the Hobbo one more time might have been enough, but I was lucky to get in a position to threaten a draw in the first place.

He just didn't roll any skull blocks, rarely failed dodges, and only failed one GFI the whole game which he rerolled. I failed at least 3 to 4 GFIs with rerolls and had some skull blocks rerolled to skulls LOL.

To top it off, he was a good coach too, and good coaches capitalise on your mistakes or bad luck.

Congrats Mafo and good luck with your team.
