“What an exciting match!

We had to kick first, and 4 of our players were overrun by the fans during a pitch invasion. Surprisingly none of the Skaven fell down.
Despite (or because of?) this short time player advantage, RatBurgers scored quickly in turn 2.
I was feeling pretty well, thinking about a turn 8 TD and a late TD in second half. But things were more difficult.

Late in the first half one of my Runners holding the ball was only 4 squares from the endzone. Only 5 Skaven were left on the field. But they would not give up. They kept fighting. And were rewarded by a lucky streak I have hardly ever seen:
A rat started a blitz turn, including 1 or 2 dodges, gfi and a 1d block at my Runner, rolling a pow and stunning the poor guy. The ball scattered to the right side of the row of my players (for him). So his SV rose, dodged, picked up the ball in 1 TZ, dodged out again, took 2 gfi, and threw the ball to a linerat. That was standing in a TZ, but still caught the ball, dodged into 1 TZ and then free and ran down towards the endzone (2gfi, I think). All I could do was to lay a TZ on him, but he dodged again, and only a failed gfi (resulting in a BH) prevented the 2:0 lead for the Skavens.

Lol, nice one! So, we entered the 2nd half with 0:1.

Now we did, what dwarves can do well: We removed more and more Skavens off the field and scored late. So the game was brought into overtime.

The rats were recieving, but the could only field 5 players. The OT was quite eventless. Apart from another few cas and some attempts to stop us scoring. Quite futile. At the end, only 3 Rats were left on the field.

So it was turn 8 of OT when we decided the match.


I think I hardly ever casused as many KOs (box was full sometimes) and cas in a single match. But, as nice as we are, only BHs, and a single RIP, that was safed by the apo. His SI resulted from a failed dodge. That was where my luck was this game. His thrower, dodging away from my dwarves could even crowdpush one of my dwarves, which resulted in the loss of AG. Well, not too bad for a Dwarf...

Bob_Hobgoblin played a great match, never giving up. He even kept trying with only 3 players left. It kept my tense till the very end.
