The Handicaps were:

Iron Man - given to Horns Tackle Dauntless Gutter Runner
Morley's - affected one player, and only worked once maybe?
Virus - Str 5 Tackle Black Orc Blocker out
Bad Press
Buzzing - given to Str4 Guard Tackle Storm Vermin

It was a very fun game and both coaches I think played great games. Both teams had strings of good and bad luck, but if you listened to Mezir during the match, it was all bad luck for him, though he went strangley and deathly quiet in the second half after stringing together some great rolls to steal the ball and score at 1-2 to take a 2 TD lead.

I think it is fair to say that I lost that game by being too cocky. I was up 1-0 with one turn to go, and knowing he could do a chain push TD, I still set up players without Stand Firm on the line of scrimmage. I was being cocky and hoping that he would fail a roll (as he had no rerolls left) but he made 4x 3+ GFI in the blizzard and got the one dice push he needed also (2 in 3 chance of the first block not allowing the chain push) and evened the score at 1-1. I certainly didn't mind, I was going for overtime against a rapidly depleting lineup of rats!!!

Second half, I set up aggressive on defence and allowed an easy TD. Again, I didn't mind as I was expecting to score once to go to overtime with a much longer bench and Mezir had no apothecary (the unlucky bugger rolled a 1 and his Str 3 Gutter got niggled).

Even a fireball didn't bother me as I had a heap of AG4 players.

But then Mezir's second half good luck continued, with a fair number of dodges to get into my cage, and then getting a one dice Blitz on my ball carrier and rolling a one dice pow after I chose not to dump off. The one dice pow would have been a 6 for my pass, and I had an AG4 player next door lol.

Mezir scooped up the ball in a tackle zone, dodged, passed and scored to take a 3-1 lead.

The game was pretty much over from there with the limited time left. However, the spectators were still wanting blood (and sending me messages in irc to foul Mezir repeatedly). A FUMBBL tournament player has a duty to entertain the specs (at least 17 of them) and I obliged with a few more fouls that were totally un-necessary, but totally enjoyed by the screaming specs!

Anyways, I had a blast. Black Orc scored a TD, and a fun close match against a great coach. Didn't even mind losing as it was my own doing, not the dice. Shoulda put the three stand firm guys on the line in the first half, and if I wanted overtime, just hold off scoring or not score once in the second half. If I had done that, the lucky cage blitz would only have made the score 1-2 instead of 1-3.

Match started with a Blitz! Boy did I mess that one up.

Okay so he pounds me all half. I knock the ball loose a couple of times. I whine like a little baby. He ends up giving the ball to a Black Orc Blocker in t8 (re-roll used) and scores.

Malthor by this time is having a blast listening to me mouth off against the dice and complain about my ill fortune (hey, better than him being annoyed at it). He sets up in a way that makes a push-back one-turner possible. With a metric tonne of lucky rolls, I make it. No biggie - Malthor wanted over-time anyway.

Second half. Quick two-turn score. I'm good at quick two-turn scores. Malthor got plenty of TZ on the ball, but couldn't shield the player away from the end-zone (though one more gfi would have done that). 2 - 1.

My kick. He grabs the ball. Cages. I fireball. Only the thrower (with ag 4 no less) goes down. I try to get there with a gutter, but snake eyes a dodge.

Malthor set up the same cage. 5+ dodge. 1d block against a Blodger (Dauntless failed, Horns used) with no skills (other than Dauntless and Horns... weird player). POW. Malthor didn't dump-off. Perfect scatter. Thrower dodges; picks up the ball in a TZ, dodges out, GFIs, short pass, catch, Touch-Down.

A TD that never should have happened. Suddenly I am leading 3 - 1.

Malthor then show that his orcs know what AG 4 is for. Quick two-turn score.

My turn again. Under heavy pressure I pull off the quick two-turn score. Malthor needed three 3+ dodges and a 2d with Tackle on my blodger to stop it. He failed the second dodge. 4 - 2. Game over.

Match ended 4 - 3. Took some damage on the rats - stupid apoth! My best player! Nuffle's way of telling me to take Horns I guess.

Dauntless Horns Block Tackle rat got the MVP and skilled up. Rolled a double. Didn't age. Man. What's up with this team? Did they forget how to lose or something? Another match I shouldn't have won.
