#6 Jemima Faceripper – Dead (RIP) #9 Sloth – Dead (RIP)
“First draw for the Psychotics and what can I say but - Ouch.
This match hurt.
First block. 2 dice, POW, RIP. The Psychotics were scared. Second 2dblock and second RIP (still first turn) confirmed this initial fear.
Plorg sportingly agreed not to foul until I did. Howevrt, considering I got my first POW in turn 6 (turn 7 but we got injury time) this was something of a moot point. In the first half, the Ironhelms made 25 POWS from 30 Blocks. Yep, I was counting. We made 2 POWS (from far less blocks, but at least 11 2dice and other 1dice and -2d).
Our love of the double skull/pow left us open to oh-so-many return 2dblocks. We really suffered in the first half. Our two leap/tackle players were BH by turn 4, and we made a mighty 2/10 KO rolls. It was tough blockswise. We got hammered.
The second half began at 1-1, and we received. Anotjher harsh series of blocks from the helms saw Sloth carried off dead - our sixth casualty and third RIP. These casualties need to work on balancing out.
The luck was well into the 30s, but it did pick-up - even allowing our mighty 5 players (3 linemen, the unskilled passer and our lesser Witch) to score in turn 4, against all the odds and all sense and logic.
We tried to keep the game, but 11 vs 5 ain't easy, especially after a touchback. A shockload more POWS, and a KO for Lurcrezia made it more or less impossible to prevent the score. Another good -2block (we got more pows from them than 2dblocks) gave us a chance, but it wasn't to be.
"He hit me and it felt like a kiss."
We got brutalised (not by the MB players, of course), but we did damn well to draw (11 turns with linemen, an unskilled passer and a block Witchelf). Happy with the result, if not the fact we're 2 key players down. Truly, we will miss our Ma8 Ag5 Leap-Blitzer.
An enjoyable game, despite the three RIP.”
