“Smelling Salts (massively useful) and the hapless Virus (only versus non-niggle teams, damnit) were our handicaps, but at times it seemed like every single player had Ironman.
After a couple of games taking high casualties, a tougher training regime has clearly worked wonders for the Psychotics. Not a single cas until turn 2/7, and even then it was only a missed game (the Coach took a risk and apothed it anyway).
Smelling Salts took care of the handful of KOs, and otherwise the boys stood tall, going shoulder to shoulder with the Big Guys.
A second match played in the Pouring Rain again gave the agile elves the advantage. Teddy was on fine form, leaping, dodging and grabbing all over the place, or using his tackle on the gobbos. Aside from an early problem with POWS (it took seventeen dice to knock an unskilled gobbo down - 8 of them from tacklers), things pretty much went our way. A couple of key moment snake-eyes hurt us, but we recovered, scoring twice on the break, and almost adding a fourth td right at the death (just three 2+ rolls away).
A friendly game with crappy money but another +FF taking us back up to 14 is a great boost. On with the ELF.”
