“Kalathorn received the kick off, but after some backfield dallying on their part followed by a missed pass by Kane Reisen, the ball turned over as Mormegil came sweeping in from the defensive backfield to collect the loose ball and loft a quick clutch pass through to Morwen who’d already broken through on the blitz. She pulled the ball down safely, and jogged into the end zone, Darkland 1-0 up.

From the kick off Kalathorn swept the ball down to the sideline, Reisen connected with Ragar Maim on a short pass, who burst through a blocked hole in the Darkland defensive backfield, handed off to Raef McFael, who trotted a somewhat simple and inherited touchdown into the end zone. Kalathorn equalise 1-1.

Down to ten elves Darkland receive the kick off and stutter to create anything for a while. Mormegil finally gets caught behind the line of scrimmage with the ball by a blitzing Ragar Maim and Krim van Obenwulf. With hands clutching at his jersey things look bleak for the fleet footed thrower, then BAM out of nowhere Morwen has swept back into the backfield and blindside Obenwulf twice, pushing him far out of reach. Mormegil dances away from the blitzing Ragar Maim and spots captain Gorgoth downfield, who breaks free of Reisen who’s covering him and gets alone in the end zone. Mormegil lofts a beautifully spiralled pass long bomb right into his captain’s hands… only for the blitzer to somewhat unbelievably drop it. Unable to get anyone close, and as the half comes to a close, Kalathorn concede a second touchdown as Darkland captain Gorgoth scoops up the fumbled ball on the floor of the end zone. Darkland back into the lead 2-1.

Now down to only nine elves Darkland start the second half by receiving a short kick off which they fail to recover before Ragar Maim once more blasts into the Darkland backfield, scooping it up and making off down field with it. Only a last minute double team between an assisting Mormegil from his safety spot, and Morwen dancing back from a messy line of scrimmage, managed to flatten the lineman, with the witch elf recovering the fumbled ball. Morwen was then brought down by Darv Makowskel and fumbled the ball out of bounds. An over-enthusiastic crowd throw the ball in on the other side of the pitch. Kalathorn’s Fengar von Sah fumbled the recovery, followed by Gorthaur doing the same for Darkland. Mere yards from the Darkland end zone Gorthaur finally finds his feet and collects the ball up and tries to hit Gorgoth downfield, but fumbles the ball at his feet instead as Talish Hengar blitzes down on him. The human blitzer scoops up the fumbled ball, and jogs it into the end zone, Kalathorn draw level again 2-2.

Darkland back up to ten men take the kick off with Mormegil collecting it up. Morwen breaks through the line (putting Zirich on his back in the process), as Gorgoth drops back to cover his thrower. Fearful of her fleet feet Morwen finds two Kalathorn men covering her, and inevitably finds herself knocked down. Meanwhile in the pocket Jarek Fear has blitzed around Gorgoth and plants a hit on the Darkland thrower… though Mormegil stiff arms him and holds him off, if being pushed back doing so. Mormegil shouts at the Darkland captain to forget about blocking and role out, and when he does so Mormegil hits him with a quick dump off pass. Gorgoth now with the ball and with the end zone in his sight was cut off by the Kalathorn defensive backfield and promptly put on his back by Kane Reisen, fumbling the ball out of bounds with the crowd throwing it back as the second half expired. Final result 2-2.”
