What was I thinking?!?
Well all I can say is the statistically best High Elf team was beaten by the actual best High Elf team.
Hmm, what can I say about the game? Well I'd like to blame the dice, and admitedly Christer did have a better luck %......but.......I think he made one mistake all game, and two dodgy (blizzard) GFI's corrected that. Meanwhile I spent all of my RR in the first half trying to stop his drive, and failing. Then when I needed a fairly simple play myself to level the game before half time (with me recieving second half) my stupid arse thrower failed his 3+ with pass reroll. To add insult to injury Christer one dice blitzed him (pow) and BH the silly arse. Needless to say Christer went in 2-0 up.
I tended to save my real lucky moments for when they were most needed in the second half. I found myself failing the 2+ actions and using my RR, then passing all the 3+ actions without a hitch. We clawed Christer back to 2-1, then he scored again to make it 3-1. I scored an almost identical TD to my first to make it 3-2.
We kicked again to Christer, and joy of joys, we blitzed (to much grumbling from Christer about the unfairness of life) . The ball was in an easy place for me to gather which I did, and surrounded the ball carrier with my players. I could only get one man far enough downfield to be in a scoring position. Once again Christer pulled off the one dice pow to disposses me, and he covered (suprise suprise) the one man in a scoring position. I attempted to get some players into scoring positions before picking up the ball, but didn't notice tackle on one of his players. Crash went my catcher, turnover. Christer dodged his AG5 player into 2 TZ to pick the ball up, then passed to his catcher in the free. I managed to blitz the catcher down, but the ball dropped so that I would need 2 GFI a pickup a 3+ catch in 1 TZ, 3 1+ dodges and 2 GFI and a 3+ pass, all with no RR. And I almost made it. The silly bastard catcher fell over on the GFI it into the TD zone (admitedly I had still to throw him the ball).
A very enjoyable game, result non-withstanding. Next time I'll get him :)
