First half I started in offence, but couldn't roll for sh1t. Rolled 1s repeatedly for catching with Gutter Runner, GFI etc. Classics including a GFI to be in a scoring position too far to be blitzed getting my player KO'd. And he one dice powed me repeatedly.
What REALLY screwed me however, is that infrequent bug on turn 7 where I ended my player's turn and it also ended my team turn as well, and he was the first player to move. I had others that could have supported my attempt to score and probably would have ensured a score, but the bug screwed me.
At the end of the first half, I hadn't scored and had 5 players on the pitch.
Only had 8 to face his full team in the second half. I could have lay down and let him score on turn 2, but I wasn't going to make it easy for him. So I played hard defence, even though it might mean that I would not have time to score again shoud he score on me anyway.
I held him up with my 8 players for an extra 2-3 turns, but he just had too many and he KO'd a few and badly hurt one.
I had 8 again in the final drive with no TDs, but managed to avoid roll any ones on the crucial play which was quite a shock considering the rest of the game I had had so far and escaped with a draw.
Was an extremely one sided match with my inept rolls reducing me to playing desperate defence or offence for most of the game whilst outnumbered by his team which had 3 Str 4 guys. Serves me right for playing a team that had more hitting power and skills than me LOL. Then again, if it hadn't been for that turn 7 first half bug, I probably would have won the game.
