“Well, folks, this match had plenty of action. The Pitter Patter rats, perhaps thinking too much of their size advantage on the little feasters from Firsthill, had nothing but problems blocking the halflings. The treemen also caused them great difficulty. In fact, it seemed like the only thing the rats could do was run. And run they did!
The rats passed with proficiency and they scampered about the pitch effortlessly, displaying amazing ability with the ball. Of course, for those rats whose duties did not involve the ball, the woes were plentiful. Many deflating sighs and shouts of exhasperation rose from the crowd of spectators whenever a rat failed to pummel one of the halflings. If you are a fan of the passing game or like to watch ballcarriers cruising down the pitch with amazing speed and agility, then this was the match for you. For those fans interested in a bit more mud and blood, you'll need to wait until the next match. Amazingly enough, the match MVP was a linerat. Perhaps Harry Heavyset's heroics in previous matches had some influence in the vote. Perhaps he performed some fantastic feat that I missed as my head turned to follow a pass or a scampering rat.
When asked about the match, Coach Shorty commented, "Well, we passed the ball. We caught the ball. We ran the ball. And we scored. We scored more than they did. I'm callling this match a success."
Although I was able to catch up to Spike who still on the pitch long after everyone else had left, I chose not to interview him as he was standing there screaming in rage.
Snatch, Skad, and Krin were busy comparing achievements while scarfing down the post-game feast.”
