The Elves turned up with high expectations, determined to put some of their recent beatings behind them.

The terrible conditions (Blizzard) meant that this was not a game for the fans. And, after the appalling Elven peformance of the opening few turns, many walked out.

A Perfect Defense for DiniSauri was followed by three failed 2dblocks, the last a double-skulls that saw Lionel darkhart injure himself. Saved by the apothaceray, he spent the rest of the half lying on the floor, unable to stand (we failed 13 of our 17 4+ stand-up rolls - and two of the successes came in turn 2/6).

Failing GFIs and dodges left right and centre, only the Lizards complete and utter inability to pick up the ball stopped them scoring. Our chef was off form, failing to steal any rerolls in the first half, but the skinks just couldn't make any of the 3+ they needed.

The Sauri, however, tore through our brave elves, ensuring that almost every 2dblock ended in a POW.

After much comic fumbling, a misthrew pass from little Malus Kale put the ball well into the DiniSauri half, but the Har Ganeth boys chose that moment to fail two pick-ups, and then snake-eyes the last GFI needed to score.

0-0 at half time, and it sure as hell wasn't pretty.

The second half continued in much the same fashion - the Big Elves went down (three one-dice POWS, damn the Sauri's eyes) and didn't get back up, the Little Elves got Ko'd.

However, the Skinks forgot how to dodge, and all three (one was crowdpushed) were off the pitch by turn 2/5, making it extremely difficult for the Lizards to get their hands on the ball.

Some desperate play saw the dark Elves score a wildy celebrated 2/7 touchdown.

The single-skull block onb the resulting kickoff stopped DiniSauri in their tracks, and, after some wondrous Dark Elf agility play and a successful TTM, we were within sight of the second TD. Only a (classic) twice failed GFI into the endzone stopped us making the match look deceptively easy.

A good, but mostly inept, match that could have gone either way. Three doubleskulls/doublepowskulls blocks from the big elves, and a large number of snake-eyes and skull, skull single blocks hurt us, but our luck came good towards the end, and our higher agility really paid off.

A boatload of money, but the fans weren't impressed. One day we'll get our FF back, one day.
