The necro's held the advantage on paper. One reserve and the ag4 wolf.
But when he could kick the wolf (foul resulting in KO) and the beast refused to return both at the end of the first half and the second (overtime) that paper meant nothing.
At the end of the first half all my wights had to do is pick up the ball and leg it for the endzone. They failed for 3 turns quite miserably.
The second half I outnumbered him but without the wolf and a soon killed zombie all this was not that important either. 0-0 still after 16 turns.
Overtime, still without wolf, he received BUT I had the numbers; 11 to his 9. Still a close call with his 3 ST4 BOB left.
Then disaster struck for him; his thrower -with ball- failed a gfi and BH'd himself. (ouch) I could free up a zombie and decided to grab that 50% (4+ to pick up) chance. Not that i had any other decent options anyway.
It worked. The silly thing even stumbled all the way to the endzone.
Who needs an ag4 wolf? LUCK is all-important.
Even so; the end of the overtime saw an amazing amassed number of skulls for me. Double-skulls twice with the golems and more important; a skull when the wolf could blitz himself free and score.
“A game of poor and amazing rolls for both sides and with his wolf ko'd most of the game it should have been the Orcs game but whe he is dodging zombies who then drive on and score whilst the rest of the team just annihilates the alleged superior strength orcs even nuffle had to put his hands up and say 'It wasn't me!!!'
Still 0-0 at full time and then only 1-0 in O/T shows that this was a match of defensiveness and both coaches sweated in this one.”
