#10 Door – Smashed Knee (NI)
The Forevergreen Faeries were expecting a much easier match here than actually proved to be the case. It certainly didn't help the Faeries that Dart, their best Wardancer, couldn't participate due to injuries in the last game.

The Faeries started on the defense and it started out well enough when Windkin quickly snatched the ball from an unsuspecting beastman and then went on to score.

The Knights of Takhisis managed better in their second drive though and finally managed to score in their last turn after a bitterly contested drive.

By now the Faeries were fairly confident of victory, they still had eleven players on the field and were on the offense now, but after looking at the nearly impregnable wall of beastmen and chaos warriors facing them it started to look grimmer. Things went from bad to worse when Zhantee, the thrower, fumbled with the ball and the Knights blitzed their way to it.

After a brief struggle the elves came out holding the ball, and after a short pass to an elf waiting at the halfway line he started a run for the goalline. It weren't to be that simple though, after two turns of running he was blitzed and badly hurt by a beastman.

By now the elven lines were getting desperately thin and each opposing chaos player seemed bigger than the elf opposing him. Trying to dodge didn't help either as the elves had forgotten how before this game...

Another beastman then picked up the ball and started his own run to score, on the way he was intercepted in turn and the elves got the ball back again. A blitz by a chaos warrior then failed allowing the Faeries a relatively easy chance to score. Easy for elves that is, only a 2+ dodge, a 3+ handoff (with catch), another 2+ dodge (with dodge) and finally a quick pass. What could be simpler? ;)

Naturally it failed on the first dodge and the Knights got their chance to win, they only had to block away the elves from the ball, pick it up and waltz to the goalline. But the Knights rookie ogre finally knocked himself down for the first time of the match and the elves got a last turn shot at victory. This to failed when they didn't even pick up the ball and the Knights looked almost certain to win on the very last turn.

The Knights, being chaos, got greedy however and tried to push out the elven catcher Willowsnap in the audience with a two dice block. The dice came up both down, ending the match and very nerly Willowsnaps life too, but he was fortunately saved by the Faeries apothecary.

Thanks for a very exciting game iolo, and may your luck hold up as well in the future!
