Some truly awful first-half play from the Har Ganeth was not helped by the Godesses reluctance to hurt themselves, they'd go down but that armour was standing pretty solid, despite the MB of the Giant Wooden Elves.

Things went further astray as yet more tactical ineptitude was helped along by an impressive 6 casualties in the first 6 turns (the first three from the one block we allowed the Amazons per turn, the fourth from a failed dodge).

With every single one of our skilled players off the pitch, Trantor held off our desperate assaults and was able to run in an Turn 6 score. Our TTM attempt failed tragically in a haze of dropped balls.

In the second half, with the 'zons receiving, things still looked pretty bleak. However, a misthrown pass gave the elves a way back into the game, as Naegra Ruth hurtled the length of the pitch, grabbed the ball under pressure and GFI dodged away for the equaliser.

Down to 7 men, we were struggling, and the Godesses ran in another TD. Overrun and with TTM failing, the 'zons pressed for their third. But, another dropped pass followed by some supremely jammy rolling from the Dark Elves saw another TTM work. This time Knifey Malus made the landing, and GFI'd his way to a last turn equaliser.

20k winnings won't be enough to repair the damager caused by that first-half Amazon rampage, but there is no way we deserved the draw, so the Dark Elves can still walk away happy.”
