The Snot started in offence, and scored a very quick Throw Team Mate TD in the opening seconds of the match.
The Followers of Ben lined up with their Rat Ogre on the line in their left wide zone. The Snot caught the Followers off guard with a quick defensive shift (perfect defence) and the Follower Rat Ogre found himself in front of a Troll with 2 more Trolls next to it!
The Snot quickly swarmed all over the Followers as they charged towards the ball whilst the Rat Ogre got kept knocking himself over. By the time the Snots got the ball into the end zone, 5 Followers had been knocked out, and 2 were injured, one a Gutter Runner injuring himself by trying to dodge away from a Troll.
The next line drive saw only 5 Followers take the field. The Snot fans thought this was 5 too many so they invaded the pitch and injured 4 of them!
The second half saw the Snots line up in defence with one Troll still knocked out against only 5 or 6 Followers. The fans from both teams didn't like the lack of calls against blatant fouls by both teams in the opening half so two separate mobs invaded the pitch and killed the ref, thereby ensuring no one would be sent off for the entire second half for fouling!
The Followers pushed the ball deep into Snot territory, but it wasn't long before the Snot collapsed on them and won the ball due to superior numbers and causing the Follower Rat Ogre to knock himself over again blocking Trolls supported by Snotlings just behind.
The Snot won the ball and ran in their third TD of the match.
----------
It was not my opponent's day. The Perfect Defence screwed him completely, but that is the risk you take when you put a rookie Rat Ogre on the line even in the wide zone.
His luck was also bad in other ways, eg his Gutter Runner failing a 2+ dodge with reroll and badly hurting himself. With so few numbers and an inability to injure any of my Snots, it was really going to be hard for him.
Just one of those days where the dice totally screwed him. I have been on the receiving end of those so I know how it feels.
