“With two players missing after their last game, Darkest Forest were a long way down on numbers. They started the match with only eight players, and by the end of the first half, they were down to only 6 on the field (including their tree).
Some poor decisions in the first half allowed the dwarves to sneak in a second touchdown (it required a bit of luck, but if I had played it well, there wouldn't have been an opportunity at all - silly me).
Going into the second half, down on players, and down by 1 TD, the elves motivation was low. It took them 4 turns to score, which was too fast to leave any chance for a second TD, and too slow to make it hard for the dwarves to score. The only thing that the elves did have in their favour were the fans, who provided them with a lot of support, and several additional re-rolls (there were four of them all up I think!)
Although it wasn't a lot, that 10k will be enough to purchase another lineman, and fill the team back out to 11 players (although 3 are niggled). Twas a close game, and would have been closer if I had played a little better ;-)”
