Note, the luck reading is out as there was a ping out in turn 5 of the second half.
---
The Guardians started in offence and sent receivers deep into the Lords territory then effected an easy first score despite the pouring rain.

On the Lords first offensive drive, they pushed foward a short distance whilst their emerging star player quarterback Brominus Chateaubriand looked for a passing option downfield. Unfortunately, he didn't see Guardians Catcher Kaldonis Stormblade flanking him on his right and his teammate Wardancer Kelthanus Thundercall charging at him from his left until he got crunched by the two players in a brutal block that ended his match (this move required 3 GFIs in all, and I failed 1 of them but rerolled it). Unfortunately, just after this great play, one of the Guardian's emerging star linemen tripped over a blade of grass and badly hurt himself, reducing the Wood Elves to ten fit players for the match.

The Lords had most of their players upfield and were unable to secure the ball, allowing Thundercall to combine with Stormblade for an easy score.

On the next kickoff, the Lords pushed deep, but the Guardians manned up and covered the passing lanes and picked off the pass! They ran the ball back across the line of scrimmage but the quick pass was dropped allowing the Lords to recover the ball. However, Guardians Wardancer Caladriel Stormbringer used his pass blocking skills to dive across the passing lane and pick up the second Guardian's interception in less than a minute! The Guardians converted this into a third TD to take a 3-0 lead into the half time.

The Lords were in shock and routed, and played that way in the second half, dropping an easy catch in the backfield that allowed the Guardians to score again, failing dodges and tripping over blades of grass. It was Elfbowl being played by blindfolded Ogres.

The Guardians were soon up 5-0, but were too overconfident, sending almost the entire team forwards on a blitz only to catch a falling duck from the sky and not the football (I didn't see the turquoise marker, but my opponent told me where it was, but it was actually the ball marker and it was a touchback LOL, a mistake by both of us LOL)! The resulting touchback allowed the Lords to get on the scoreboard at last.

However, their joy was shortlived as the Guardians scored quickly again, and then on on defence stole the ball yet again and scored a crushing 7th TD.

Condolences to my opponent. I had some nice rolls early on, getting the early injury on his star thrower, then intercepting on a 5+ and then his rolls of snake-eyes... quite a few of them at critical times, like catching the ball when I had AG5 guys nearby ready to steal the ball and convert to scores.

I think he had the worst luck I have ever seen. His only lucky break (apart from the hilarious blitz touchback fiasco) was when he rolled a 6 and got an interception on a pass I did just to get a cheeky SPP. He dodged away and threw a long pass to a player in a TZ who caught it, then rolled snake-eyes to dodge and let me score again.

Despite the horrid run of bad luck, my opponent remained a pretty good sport and didn't whine too much about it, laughing most of his horrid run of bad luck away.

Fun game (for me) against a friendly coach.

A humiliating defeat for the Lords.

Every play failed either by fumbling it themselves or it was foiled by the enemies Wardancers.
The Lords dropped and lost the ball during very simple actions multiple times.
With star quarterback Brominus Chateaubriand sacked and badly hurt by buzzing Kelthanus Thundercall early in the game, unsafe passes had to be made by other, less experienced Lords and got intercepted twice!

The leaping wardancers were unstoppable in their own drives.

The only Gold and Azure touchdown was scored after a touchback occured when the whole Woodelf team had Blitzed forward to capture a ball which later turned out to be a large flying bug of some sort.

The Lords are deaply hurt in their pride.
