#9 Kokusho – Smashed Knee (NI)
In my first 12 months of fumbbl i have often bemoaned my lack of luck.

Slowly i have come to terms with the fact that luck is only a small protion and skill does in fact reduce it's effect on games

Then there is this.... Dice rape from hell.

About the only thing that didn't go exactly right for me was the failed Apo but it's only a lino and a glorious LoS death awaits.

Commiserations to Canales who maintained humour despite the aweful luck. another addition to my "white" list

The Elusive Elves made their debut in Faction, and the result was rather discouraging.

The Dragons began their drive in earnest, and knocked out Carnecanhonil and Reciboil right away (the latter never returned to the game).

After conceding a TD quite easily, we launched our offense. Marcoil managed to score in two turns, although Unomasil was badly hurt in the process.

Down 3 players, our luck got worse when Repartoil, one of our blitzers, got seriously injured in the 4th turn (making it a 7 vs 11 effort). The remaining blitzer, Atizoil, then blizted the ball carrier one-on-one, but got badly hurt instead! In just five turns, we were outnumbered 6 to 11 and without blitzers.

In the next turn, we had another shot at the ball carrier. The result, however, was utterly predictable - a skull. We finished the first half down 1-2.

The Elusive Elves kept making a fool of themselves in the second half. Marcoil, the catcher, failed the gfi that would have equalise the score. Before the Dragons completely recovered the ball, we had a few chances of retrieving it, but failed all of them and the Dragons scored in the 5th turn.

The game was lost, but we still wanted to score. After all, we were *almost* close in numbers - 6 vs 9. We deployed in a wide formation to storm the sides, but the Dragons' coach noticed it and reacted with a perfect defense, tying all the possible receivers before they could cross the midfield, and kicking the ball into the endzone. Figuranteil managed to get around the defense, but then failed the gfi and knocked himself out in a very fitting performance. The Dragons knocked out another lineman (4 vs 9 now) and run forwards to pressure our thrower. The blitzer Draco stunned him and the reboud ended in the hands of a Dragon, so they did not even have to pick up the ball (and without a reroll, risk failing). Before scoring, however, they had enough time to knock out two additional players (2 vs 11).

The Elusive Elves will have to improve dramatically if they want to be noticed in Faction. The Dragons, on the other hand, made an impressive and very promissing debut.

Thanks to the high gate, we could afford an appothecary. He will be needed for the next game, where the team will only be able to field 10 players.
