“What a strange game! All in all, we're rather glad the crowd was a motley 45k as all they got for their money was a very amateurish game. More face plants than the lads have seen in the CTL to date...from both sides!
The stompers really were up against it. Two blitzes against them, and a complete inability to harm the elves, despite getting them out of position and ripe for a pasting after a couple of crucial turnovers. Not that we're complaining, its not often we get to outnumber orcs on the pitch!
Deathwish Votes:
2pts: Naglaz San'kor
What a move! Turn 15, right on the tryline and with his back against the sideline fence while Vanguard fans groped for a chance to drag him into the crowd, he pulled some fancy dodging through some tackle zones, escaped to make the risky 1die blitz on the ball carrier and recovered the ball for the stompers! Unfortunately he was brought down by the Suzerain (Witch Elf) who scored for the win just as the siren blew! Still, it was an impressive move that almost saved the game!
1pt: Ladislav Rabii
I typically never give best and fairest points to a dp, even if they're deathwish points. Dp's should be skirting around in the shadows and avoiding the limelight lest they draw too much attention to themselves! But here we make an exception. This lad had a terrific first half. After being blitzed, he was part of the play that recovered the ball for the orcs and by smeg did he hang on to it. Surrounded by elves on all sides, he surivived four strong blitzes by the Vanguard before he finally relinquished the ball. But even in relinquishing the ball, he had the presence to manage a deft offload to the Bob standing next to him. This one certainly did save a try and helped prevent the Vanguard go up 2-0 at the half.”
“Snorri played a great game, my orc lads were falling over each other to participate in a wonderful show of darkelf prowess.
Apologies for the small crowd, my team has very little crowd support.
The points have to go:
2pts: Suzerain of the Scarlet Mist - Oh my gosh, arent crowd pushes fun, even the threat of them kept me away from the line, and she scored a touchdown after a great takedown of a blodgy orc blitzer!
1pts: Trojan Gift - Made the most of his knuckle dusters”
