“Things started going wrong at once for the Iron Guards, all the high elves with niggling injuries showed up, the elves knocked out a dwarf on the first turn, the dwarves couldn't seem to do anything right and the ogre was even more boneheaded than usual.

The elves scored in four turns, leaving enough time for the dwarves to do their thing, right? Until the riots broke out, that is. With only two turns too score the dwarves made a valiant effort but ultimately misthrew the ball when trying to do the TD.

The Iron Guards then tried to do a quick TD in the second half just to prove that they could, but the elves managed to knock down the dwarven runner adjacent to the sidelines. The ball bounced over the side and an elf quickly snatched it up and threw it for the elves on the field to pick up. The elves soon scored and the Iron Guards were in dire straits.

With only four turns left the tried as hard as they could and finally managed to score in two, giving them some hope, especially as the elve lines finally were growing thinner.

The dwarves set up very aggressively for the last drive of the match, but the kick wasn't too good. In fact it landed straight in dragon warrior Ylwe's hands. Ylwe himself then punched a neat hole in the dwarven defence and ran for the goalline, with the whole elven team trying to cover him.

Despite this the dwarves actually managed to get a troll-slayer and a runner adjacent to Ylwe, and the fancy dodging of pro runner Helva Darkwatcher even managed to close the hole in the defense.

By now it actually looked like the dwarves could get the ball for that last desperate attempt at a draw, but a simple handover from Ylwe to Ineluki left him with but a simple dodge to score...
