“A bloody pyrrhic victory -- literally!

The Dark Elves started off with no luck -- their ball handling was miserable, and their Str 4 lineman and the secondary witch elf both were badly hurt in quick succession, leaving the darkies trailing 0-1 despite having received. Their luck continued apace, not improving until turn 8 of the first half.

Then my blodging blitzer niggled himself on a double skull (apo failed), causing a turnover that also saved the dark elves from going 0-2 under. Fortunately for me, my team still had more than enough oomph to secure that lead on our reception in the second half, but it would only get worse from now on, casualty wise: my Str 4 catcher niggled himself as well, this time on a double 1 failed dodge, and my dirty player suffered an Av drop from a block.

Oh yeah, somewhere along the line my Guard/MB lino suffered a MNG, but hey, in this game, that's nothing...

Give me another victory like this, and there won't be anymore victories...”
