“Ok, I'm not normally one to moan about luck... but jeez was this game ever an exception!
The Nibelung Warriors received in the first half, and rolled a pitch invasion, splatting a load of my team. They then proceeded to drive up the pitch, in great dwarf style! Then came the lucky escape for me. Dodging my Dragon Warrior up the field, Mortarion stood in a great position to receive the catch. A couple more dodges (including avoiding a diving tackle) and I set myself up with a dice blitz on the ball carrier, who was promptly felled. The ball spilled out of the pack. Elthar then sprinted round, scooped up the ball and executed a perfect long bomb to Mortarion. One more dodge from a line-elf and the only two dwarves that could reach Mortarion were tagged, meaning at best a one dice block on him after 2 gfi.
Except it 'never' happened - as my opponent's connection dropped, and the turn had to be replayed. This time the blitz spilt the ball onto another dwarf who ran in the TD.
Still there were 3 turns left to get the equaliser, so with good timing I could still go in 1-1 and win 3-2 in the second half. Realising this the dwarf fans rioted and the half ended. The second half started better, with the citadels equalising in 2 turns, despite the dwarves rolling a blitz result on their kick! This time a desperate HailMary Throw went well, and Elthar diving catched (sp?) the ball to equalise.
The Dwarves then marched up the field, and with some pressure the ball went over the line again. Still I was horribly low on rolling POWs. Then again there were still 3 turns for me to score. Lining my elves up I didn't feel particularly confident, especially when a second pitch invasion occurred, killing Mortarion were it not for the efforts of my apothecary, and taking a load more out.
Elthar's leap worked, but dodge failed, seriously injuring the star Lion Warrior. The dwarves easily turned the ball over, and the game was won 3-1!
Well played to my opponent. Please consider this me venting my frustration, and not moaning about losing.

A pre match pitch invasion saw several of the High elf players stunned. This contributed to the warriors scoring there first TD. (along with my connection failing and the turn being replayed after he had blitzed my ball carrier :( - took me 45 minutes to reconnect, bloody BT)In high spirits the dwarf fans caused a riot leading to the Half ending.
A swift blitz by the warriors still failed to stop Elthar running through their lines to recevie a throw with a spectacular diving catch. After the kick off the dwarves formed ranks and steamrollered up the field to score. As the High elves lined up to try and claw back a draw the dwarf fans once more invaded the pitch and beat up the Elven team.
From there the luck went downhill for the elves, the star catcher Elthar tripped whilst dodging and fractured his arm, several other elves failed dodges leading to Dvalin Dvalinssons final agile dodge to score the third and final TD on just as the whistle blew to end the game!
Was a fun game that would have been so different if my connection hadn't failed - or if Dan had had a little more luck in the closing turns of the second half.
Still I finally beat his damned elves - and with slow dwarves no less - so nyer ;)”
