Nothing more to say.
Just my congrats to direwolf for a really brilliant match, even with his beast falling in love with one of my pretty elves, and doing little more than look at him on stupidity.
Even ferocious beasts has his little heart inside the chest.

As a first match, to evaluate the prowess of my new "Rotters without rotters" team, I've found a beginner bunch of Dark Elves.

I was expecting an abysmally low gate.. so it was with some surprise that I went out on the pitch to see a rather acceptable number of fans cheering.
As it turned out, my boys were part of a very (in)famous Nurgle Chaos Warband and all their former mates had showed up to see the match, and with them a large following of ruffians, would-be Nurgle worshippers and generically sick people.

Well, on to the game now. The first drive saw the rotters kicking and the elves scoring a rather easy touchdown in turn four. Not much more to tell here...

For the second drive the team used the only tactic that I managed to teach them in the few time we had before this match: the cage. The omens seemed to be good since the action started with beastman Sickbreath badly hurting the elf BlackLion.

That was the end of the good news, though. The Beast Xluurgh'th managed to knock itself down and then remained down gurgling and slobbering for a good another turn (stupid beasts!!!). Without their main heavy hitter, the guys did what they could... and I have to say that they put out a real good play.

Sickbreath arrived at just one last pace from the endzone but weariness had taken its toll and he fell down after being tripped by a devious Elf.

Our fans (that were already savoring the touchdown) didn't seem overly happy. In particular Plaguelord Vorrsk, a Chaos Champion of Nurgle, seemed rather annoyed and I distinctly remember seeing him tearing out one of the skulls that were dangling from his belt.

Second half. Dark Elves kick.

A stone came flying out of the blue, hitted the elf Zhoren Alleberd square in the head putting him KO and then bounced into my dugout. I looked at the stone and saw that it was not a stone. It was a skull. I looked at Plaguelord Vorrsk and had the impression that he was winking to me.

Oh well.

The drive started. Xluurgh'th seemed not to notice that and happily slobbered on the spot while wriggling his tentacles. The beastman Foulsmell smashed himself against the elf Sthendak Phrrmion. Another elf KO.

After some stalling, Xluurgh'th finally realized that the drive was in progress and started pouncing the enemies. With that help, my guys managed to create a gap for beastman Greenspit to exploit and score a much welcomed touchdown.

Next drive. We kick.

I remember seeing Plaguelord Voorsk standing with arms outstretched amongst the now curiously silent fans. Can't really remember what he said (it seemed a kind of Chaos mumbo-jumbo).
Thing is.. the weather suddenly changed. A ferocious sun came out and the air became very damp and hot. The field was a steaming oven.

"Just like the Chaos Wastes" Greenspit bawled grinning "just like home".

The elves didn't feel at ease in the new environment. Dark elf Fenstra, half blind with sweat, tripped during a rush and went KO. Greenspit arrived on the ball before the elves and successfully picked it up, only to be slammed down by a blitz from Omirrith Leapwitch.
But my guys were not to be beaten by things such as these.
Not for this drive.

So Foulsmell catched the bouncing ball. After a ferocious row of blocks and yet another failed rush by elf Malakhia Blackbreeze, the beastman managed to score at the last turn. The fans were going absolutely crazy.

Last drive. Only time for a brief blitz.

The weather changed again. A sudden snow blizzard came out of nowhere!
I was flabbergasted.. until I heard Greenspit whispering "Just like the cold lands of the Dark Elves..."

Then I saw amongst the elves fans a rather distinguished individual. Covered from head to toe with arcane symbols, he was just lowering his arms. On our side, Plaguelord Vorrsk went still for a moment, then drawed his sword. The other responded with a sneer.

The last drive was all against us. Fortunately we were at the end of regulation time so the elves didn't manage to score. But they still managed to seriously injure Greenspit.

Well... not much more to say really. We congratulated the opposing coach for a brilliant game, and hurried away as soon as possible.
And if someone ask us if we know anything about the ferocious battle between a Nurgle warband and a Dark Elf sorcerer with his retinue that happened shortly after in the vicinity of the stadium... we play dumb.

P.S. The refs liked the funny slobbering of Xluurgh'th, so it was awarded the MVP. Oh well...
