“Specialwurst is officially the unluckiest person I have ever played.
Bravely challenging me despite the fact that the Regeirt were giving away 34 points of TS and the coach over 10pts in the rankings, he was rewarded with good handicaps (virus and morleys) but nothing else.
In a 20-something% first half, the PACT boys failed everything they tried, snake-eyesing and pushbacking whilst I dodged, grabbed, leapt and Ko'd my way through their team.
Things picked up a little in the second half, but the Regeirt were still snake-eyesing at key moments.
The handicaps kept Mandae out of the match until the final drive, when he managed to get himself smacked upside the head by a minotaur, and is now sadly niggled. But at least we proved we can win without him, even if his replacement was Nuffle himself.
I can only commend Specialwurst for not whining or complaining in the face of constant, ridiculously unfair luck (snake-eyes GFIs that repeatedly Ko'd the gutter runner, the apothacery failing, doublskulls). I owe him a rematch with a more balanced team.
5 tds and 5 skills (my first double and a +st for Dr Thranst, the Ag5 leaper) rounded off a good day for the Dark Elves, but it just wasn't a fair match.”
