“well what a classic game of elf bowl - so much happened, it was end to end stuff, as you can see with the score.
Just to not a few highlights.
The first few turns of the game proved to be exciting, with the Arrows recieiving. The Hawks make an attempt to blitz their thrower, one man already there, Death Jester on his way to blitz, however, some beautiful play by the Arrows' Shadowing blitzer caused Death Jester to trip, leaving the thrower in safety.
The Touchdowns were quite similar but each for each one, the opponent made it difficult. THe Arrows chose to punch a hole in the Hawks defence and run as many high quality wood elves thorugh as possible. This worked well. THe Hawks found it difficult at best to effectively disturb their elegent plays, although towards the end, the sun played a factor, almost causing an upset as previously the Arrows would always lead by 1 TD, then the Hawks would equalise. However, in the dying turns, at round 6 or 7, the Arrows passer fgaield to connect and the ball dropped close by to several Hawks elves. SO the game went into the final stages, the Hawks 4-3 up. Again the Arrows made a deleicate play, running themselves through a hole in the defence, punched neatly through by their blitzers.
HOwever, an unexpected move by the Arrows proved to be decisive. Whereas previously, the Arrows thrower would hold back, then pass when all was safe, he did not. He passed to a catcher straight away, the catcher himself well shielded. The hawks managed to get an elf to him, but not enough to block. Surrounding the Arrows elves, the Hawks hope they have done enough. However, a simple dodge and block, knocing down the elf troubling the catcher was enough. The catcher ran to the endzone....and the game ends 4-4.
All in all a fantastic game of elf bowl..watch the replay if you like poncy plays with very little injuries ( 2 or 3 KO's and one SI).
A great game, thx Neverdodge.
