#5 Shokathra Sireslayer – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#5 Shokathra Sireslayer – Smashed Knee (NI)
This was a very good game, and a draw due only to a glitch within the game causing me some good fortune in the first half. The elves were outplayed, outpowered, and outskilled, but luck can save even the saddest of souls sometimes.

Shokathra Sireslayer, one of the few remaining elves from the original team, was retired post-game due to a niggling injury on top of her already minused movement. And this turn of events actually dropped the TR of the Pillagers quite a bit, something that should help them rebuild after a rough season of E.L.F. games that decimated the team.

EDIT: And a very fun game , CorporateSlave3, you handled everything in stride and took an unfair and completely undeserved draw very well. You had me beat, but the post-crash glitch handed me a touchdown, which you could have easilly said no way to. Any time you want revenge, you know where we shall be.

What a game! A fumbled Long Bomb by the dark elves results in a fierce melee at the line of scrimmage…during which the Harolds eventually came out on top, with the ball safely in the hands of Harold of Plague.

However, an odd reality warp caused time to pace backwards a bit at this point – and although the Dark Elves hyper-agility lineman tried honorably to duplicate his previous turns’ pitch-kissing failed dodge, he instead landed gracefully, and made several dodges in a row into several tackle zones (rolls of 6,6,6,5 I think). Nuffle clearly wanted to turn back the clock a bit just to witness this brilliant bit of dodging. However, Nuffle was not done messing with the Harolds, also teleporting the ball away from our ball carrier to a spot behind the cage! This led to a touchdown by the dark elves. Ah well, Nuffle giveth and Nuffle taketh away. The dark elves only missed their original TD opportunity turn 2 due to bad luck on the pass…and in the long run, three elves were taken off the pitch in the process.

The second drive of the half was just a dash down the field by Harold Chaos and a small cage of other Harolds, who made unhindered progress due to a clumsy elf Blitzer tripping up while trying to add his tackle zone to the defenders. There was another brief reality warp, although this didn’t have any adverse effect for either team, and the half ended with Harold Chaos sprinting in the equalizing touchdown with less than a second to spare.

Reality settled down second half, with just one more small hiccup that disrupted nothing gamewise, although it was reported that it caused a small round rock to materialize at the feet of a retired human thrower watching from the stands.

The back to back plays of the game came when Harold Chaos, again holding the ball and protected on all sides by fellow Harolds, was the victim of a difficult Leaping Blitz by opposing witch elf Shokathra Sireslayer. With the odds (2 db) against her, Shokathra pounced on Harold Chaos with a deft backhand (POW POW) that knocked him unconscious and sent the ball flying and stopping the astounded Harolds’ drive it its tracks.

Harold of Death was the first to recover from the shock – and desperately attempted to block the offending witch elf. She nimbly dodged back from his grasp – almost. Harold of Death only managed to grab her left hand as she slithered away, so he did the only thing he could think to – and slammed his other spiked fist into the slender elven appendage. Shokathra screamed in shock and pain as bones crunched and tendons snapped. Her knees went limp for a moment, which was all Harold of Death needed. As she looked weakly back up at him, the last thing she heard was “The End is Nigh, my Lady” as his fist connected with her right temple.

While not actually dead, the team doctor saw that she would have to miss a couple of games at least, and her hand would never be the same again. Her crippling injury was not in vain though, as the disruption to the Harolds’ play eventually caused them to lose possession of the ball again and allowed the dark elves to score a second touchdown (again, however, at the cost of a few more elves off the pitch).

The final drive was relatively uneventful, with the Harolds caging up and marching down the pitch, largely unthreatened by the few remaining dark elf players, and scoring the final touchdown of the game as the clock wound down.

Good Game djbigjake, I’d forgotten how hard it can be to keep the ball away from a bunch of leaping elves!
