“Ok, so the TR/TS wasn't the most even ever...but it was the only two teams on Gamefinder in Ladder. (Well, except my own orcs...which were ever farther out).
However, even so it really just came down to the luck of the dice. Even if my skaven had been rookies, the 88%-53% luck at halftime would likely have still resulted in a score of 2-0, and with him only a bit luckier in the second half, with me just a tad less hot on the dice, it might have ended 2-1 instead of 2-0 if the teams had been even.
True to his cursed position on the roster, True Dat died again on the pitch. However, this time the team decided we really needed a game without losing a rat, so the team doctor was enlisted to save him, and hope our luck held out the rest of the match - which it did.
Play of the game was...there wasn't really one I guess, everything was pretty dull actually, with a lot of mixing it up in tight packs for possession of the ball. I guess it was my takeaway for the second TD after a very fortunate bounce first half that was the real game-winner, since second half nothing much happened at all save for several rats getting nailed.
The tell-tale story of the first half came turn 8, when MAD Rat managed, with no RR, a dodge, GFI, pickup of the ball in TZ, and second GFI and dodge. He then of course paid for his nerve next turn when he got completely surrounded by orcs and mangled in a brutal gang - block!
Thanks Nirrain for being a sport, and hopefully the dice will be more kind to you in your next match!”
