“Fruit & Veg won the toss and elected to recieve the ball. The orcs massed on the LoS with only thrower Grape in the back field. The kick landed right next to him as the orcish offence jumped into action with a quick snap. Heavy Orc blocking opened a good hole for blitzer Nectarine and flattened the warriors of chaos on the line.

But Grape failed to pick it up cleanly and the orcish offence hiccuped. The beasts closed on Nectarine and attempted to re-establish a defensive line, with a Hijinks charge on troll Great Pumpkin sending him off to ice his aching brain. Grape gathered cleanly this time as the Orcs continued to pound beast and warrior to the ground. The beast line seemed to be holding though and Clamour escaped the tackle of Cucumber to clatter ball carrier Grape to the ground, only to fall and knock himself out as he dived desperately on the loose ball.

Grape recovered it as the brawl upfield continued, and this time it was Maelstrom to break through and charge the ball carrier, spilling the ball by the line. Again Grape recovered only to be charged by Bedlam but this time Grape was nimble enough to avoid the crashing horns and retained his footing. More orc blocking left Grape space to run the ball to the halfway mark.

But Commotion found a hole in the Orc lines and his charge on the ball left Grape unaware of anything really as the ball fell midfield in a huge scrum of orc and beast. The ensuing ruckus looked set to keep the fans amused and the game scoreless until the half ran down. Pulped Mess escaped the tackle of Zuchinni to pick up the loose ball as it spilled out of the ruck and it was duly handed to the flying Maelstrom whose sprint for the line was ended as he lost control at speed.

After the break the kick went wild and the touchback was handed to warrior Pulped Mess on the LoS. The Riot rush went right and gained good ground as the orcs sprinted desperately in cover defence. Blitzer Apple tried too hard and fell leaving the sideline open for Mess and his scrum of beasts to gain further ground. Mess paused to salute the crowd as the beasts brawled for clear ground and it went 1-0.

With a quarter to play the Orcs had the numerical advantage after some hard hitting on the Riot's blockers. The kick went very deep, and bounced out as the Orcs quick snapped again. The touchback was handed to Black Orc Cucumber and the Orc blockers attacked the Riot line with such ferocity that warriors Turmoil and Awful Din were left dazed on the pitch.

The Riot's defence tried desperately to close lines as a strong running Cucumber ran straight through Hullabaloo, who stayed unconcious. Hubbub recovered his footing and evaded Pea's tackle to make a charge on Cucumber but the big orc shrugged it off and continued his steady drive to the end zone. The numerous orcs were carving the tattered beast line as Cucumber edged closer. But Hubbub again evaded tacklers and made sure of his charge this time, sending the ball spilling clear and Cucumber sprawling. Apple collected the loose ball after stunning Ruckus with a brutal shoulder charge and there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth as the beaten beastmen had no option but to watch him run in the late equalizer.”
