“Got to say I needed my full squad for this one. Despite having three handicaps, which helped a little by taking out an unskilled blitzer (it wasn't me) and sidelining two players for at least the last play of the game (morleys revenge) to let me equalise, this game was pretty brutal and I spent most of it short on numbers on the pitch.
Despite receiving, my mino double-skulled early on and I let in MadTias who barely needed a reroll in the first half (I think he finished with 5 or 6). I somehow managed to score one before the break as he opted to only blitz my catcher with one black orc and hence I had a single dodge to reach the endzone. The first half could have been much worse if his troll was not so stupid (at least 3 consecutive 1s) which took the troll and helping player a little out of the game.
In the second half he rolled a cage forward that I had no hope of breaking. Actually, I did have a hope, but I proceeded to roll 3 consecutive 1s to prove my mino was as wild as his troll was stupid, and MadTias scored.
There was time for one final play, and with the help of morleys revenge I sent my ag4 blitzer forward. MadTias said, "target" and he got knocked down. Fortunately, with jump up, despite being knocked down again, he simply got up, dodged out, ran to the endzone and received a pass for the 2nd equaliser. MadTias had forgotten about jump up and overcommitted on my catcher assuming the blitzer was unable to make it.
MadTias could (and possibly should) have stalled a little longer with the cage. He took his time but then scored when there was a small chance I could have hit the ball carrier. He could (and should) have prevent my blitzer from having such an easy route to the endzone. However, I felt that to draw against 43% luck was a significant feat, and I was well worth that 43% luck with all my key blocks failing.”
“So very true. Had it been a Cup game, I would have stalled the 2nd half for a 2-1 win. And yes, silly me for forgetting jump up on the blitzer, allowing the equalizer. :) Ah well, it was a good game and Chainsaw did not whine too much about his abysmal luck. Sorry about Nufffle hating you and all, but you did well in spite of that. See you on the field another day!”
