“Game starts with 10 Knights vs 13 Se7en's (yep, sounds weird to me, too). I ko two, he ko's one and -agi's a hob. I'm trying desperately to keep a screen between my defenseless hob and his troll and two bulls (only blockers/hobs for me), but alas, I cannot. But I my team's one skill--guard on a single blocker--proves pivotal towards slowing him down enough...almost. He takes the ball, throws it downfield, and is the only one who can reach it. Some desperation 1d blocking to his troll frees up one hob to sprint after him, catching up just enough to trip up the Se7en hob trying to dodge for the ball and score.
Second half begins, 12 of them vs 9 of us, he gets the ball. A horrid first turn for him allows me to ko one of his bulls (hit by a kickoff rock), but alas, I spent too much effort on the outskirts, leaving the middle open for him. Still mighta stopped him, but got greedy blocking and rerolled a push to a double-skull before being in position, letting him continue downfield. I figure game over, just start taking what I can get...and what I can get is a troll left all alone, stupidly gazing around, just begging to be knocked over and head booted in...RIP, regen fail. This came as such a shock to the other squad that their hobgob accidentally stepped backwards over the line as he recoiled in horror at the sight, scoring prematurely instead of stalling another 3 turns to ensure victory.
Three turns for my team to score...blitz! Game over...or is it? His lack of speed means only his bull can get under the ball, which he drops. A Knight picks up the ball in the tz, dodges away, gfi's to handoff to another Knight who'll then pass upfield...but drops the handoff. Se7en swarms...time for desperation play. Two-dice against block on a bull...POW/POW-Push. Can't pick up the ball in a tz this time, though...but a few skulls w/o rr support by his guys leaves me one last chance...1d push the tz on the ball away, dodge away, pick up ball, gfi, handoff ball, gfi to score...all w/o rr support. Draw game.
I really didn't deserve to tie that one vs a superior chaos dwarf team, but I guess in this case luck favored the bold (or the reckless)...Pity about the troll, a bh woulda suited me just fine...”
