#1 Earl Horatio Lumberheart – Smashed Knee (NI)
#5 Milkmaid Lyrandina – Smashed Knee (NI)
#2 Stablehand Illifrod – Dead (RIP)
I see this match report as a part of the healing process Dr Phill style, so lets get started.

Firstly, I'd like to mention that Balint certainly was an ok, polite and friendly coach. He did take my ranting quite well, especially after the last niggle. If I'd been playing vs Welves, I'd probably done much the same as he did...batter them into submission. That being said, his first block killed Stablehand Illifrod and statistically that sux. I'm really not sure how the horses will react. They've never really let anyone else care for them....

My elves dropped like flies in the first few turns, and some KOs didn't help matters. Balint stuck close to the end-field, and I decided to go for broke and try and dodge into 3 tackle zones for a one-die block. It worked, the ball bounced free, and I picked it up...but with a lack of anything to do. Rather than pass it back to a player near my end zone (who was just as vulnerable) I decided to keep it and pray. No help, however. 1-0 to the Backraiders. My luck in this game was terrible...I couldn't even pass the ball for a measly 1SPP.

The 2nd half didn't go well either. A BH when dodging and a failure to pass the ball again meant I had nasty orks right up near the ball. Balint sacked my ball carrier, and Milkmaid Lyrandina became the 2nd casualty. Now who's going to churn the butter, milk the cows, and do the other 'Milkmaid' type duties about the place? She's not going to be able to carry full milkbuckets with a limp....

Finally, a bit of luck, when Balint failed a GFI to attempt to make it 2-0 on his 8th turn. I managed finally to pick up the ball and throw it to a receiver, and get the touch down....1-1. But the worst was yet to come.....

Balint set up his last turn offence, and promptly smacked Earl Lumberheart right in the fronds. Niggle, of course, what a way to end the match. To add insult to injury, 40k is narry enough to buy an apoth.

All in all, this was a fun enough game, in that it gave me grey hairs and I think I may have dented my PC box. Congrats to Balint for whooping me he certainly played well, and only luck robbed him of a victory. You may say this was a draw, but 240k gold down, it surely was the practice game from hell.

Overall, 4/10 on the Grudge rating. I'll look forward to the rematch, Balint and next time will have to get the boot in early. :)
