Lady Luck was not on the side of the Trummers Boys today. The Trummers, coming off a tie against a chaos team, were hoping to get their first win against the Pus Infected Boils, who were starting their first match today. The game opened up under a blistering sky, and the heat played a part in the first half before cooling off toward mid match.

Everything seemed to be going the way of the Boys today. They opened the match with some excellent ball control. The Orcs were chucking and passing the ball left and right as they made their way down the pitch. At the very last second, one of the Boils' Beastmen took out the orc ball carrier who fumbled. That player got right back up though and flattened the Beastman, scooped the ball and tiptoed into the endzone for the 1-0 lead. Then heat became a factor. Two orc players and one rotter player collapesed under the intense rays of the sun and had to sit out the next series.

Neither side was able to do much with the ball until the end of the first half. There was a brief period where things were looking good for the Boys. They had an open orc in Boils' territory, but the pass went awry and ended up in the hands of Boils' rotter, Disgusting Filth. From there, the ball switched hands several times until the half whistle blew.

The second half opened differently than the first. The Boils came out with determination, and they must have paid some gold to a leprechaun to help influence the luck gods. The Boils came out and moved methodically down the Boys sideline, waylaying orc after orc, but as they thought they were in the clear, an orc lineman came in and knocked the ball from the Beastman carrier. The Boys picked it up and after a few back and forth blocks, tried to pass the ball to an open orc. That was when Hairy Hooftoe, leapt into the air and snatched the ball. With blockers taking out tacklers behind him, Hairy galloped toward the endzone and thrust himself across the goalline for the tying score.

With only a small amount of time left, the Boils were just hoping to keep the game tied. The Boys came out with their original game plan. They moved the ball effectively, but some poor tackling gave the Boils an opportunity. They made a mad rush for the ball handler. After a couple blocks, the ball came out, and beastman, Snubnose Surehoof picked the ball up. More poor tackling by the Boys gave the Boils the chance they needed. Surehoof scampered into the endzone for the goahead score.

The score was too much for the Boys. The next series opened up with some movement to get into position for a score, but as they were getting ready to throw, the final whistle blew. The Pus Infected Boils felt they were given this game by the Gods of Luck, but sometimes that's the way the head rolls. They felt fortunate to leave the match with no casualties, and they look forward to their next match, when Boils Beast, Compost Pile, hopes to add more limbs to his already growing number of appendages.
