“Interesting MVP decisions in this one: Bass didn't throw a block all game, but just ran around a lot before pulling up with a strained hamstring (a likely story!). The Valhallans Thrower (who might not quite deserve his 'the Accurate' tag) had trouble just picking up the ball all game!
The real man of the match performance came from Pedigree, who was responsible for the team's disastrously arrogant opening crowdpush play (one dice? I can do a one dice, no problem …), but then took responsibility, and dragged the team through the rest of the match, dodging and blocking like a one-man team.
Which is pretty much what he was, to be honest. Most of the rest of the side had sore-heads from last night's drinking, and took any excuse to get off the pitch and nurse their hangovers. Some of those guys lurking all game in the KO box weren't even bruised! The fact that no one suffered any permanent injury is telling. Lightweights!
A great fun game, but one for the Ale to forget - not that that will be difficult for them …
This game is also notable for the rise to prominence of our Hobgoblin (he's an Ogre - keep up at the back!). More by luck than judgement, he came out of it having made a great leap forward in his development as a player - but which leap exactly will he go for … ?”
