#5 Whisper Shadowstorm – Smashed Knee (NI)
#14 Teucer Spellweaver – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#14 Teucer Spellweaver – Smashed Knee (NI)
A few dispirited and battered Stingers managed to limp off the Blood Bowl pitch at the conclusion of play. Once again I ended up with more players in the dugout than on the field. From all the fractures, cuts and missing limbs you'd think we had been up against a team of Minotaurs. Those Wood Elves had strutted their stuff and creamed the Stingers. Both teams had good passing games and SkyRaven's newly honed Pass Block skill was put to good use with an early interception. The Stingers tried but ran out of players on the field to put up an adequate defence. The injury list is looking long and already the newly recruited Spellweaver has been retired with a nasty niggle. He will take up an new position on the sidelines supplying the appropriate stress medication to the Head Coach.

Twahnlow votes:
3 - Ra-Hel, dished out hell on the LOS with 2 casualties from 6 blocks. Tried to avoid him but someones got to line up at the start. Good job.
2 - Karesh Var, what an elf! He did everything. 49 rushes 2 TD's and 15 passing score to boot.
1 - Ammon, (I live next to city bearing your name .. Amman, Jordan) though you get a mention for those 15 blocks and 2 casualties.

Great game Rabid Bogscum... you really want people to call you that? This is the turning point in the season for the Stingers I think. Well done mate you played well.

Whoa Nelly.. what a game !!! "Echoes" went in undermanned for the 3rd game runnng, and lets just say hopes for victory were quite low up against this well established and skillful Elf Unit. A virus swept through the Stingers ranks but only Nahum Longbow succumbed to illness, while the rest of the team fell into Bad Habits. A couple of star elves in Napthali Wildelf and Jaden Skyraven ego's went through the roof up against these upstart woodelves and they refused to take the field together. A reasonable start left a couple of Elves in the KO box.. however the first drive was repelled with a fine pass block and interception from Jaden, which resulted a few turns later in a TD (while more Elves found themselves Knocked out). The next drive began well.. with Ra-Hel and Ammon badly hurting the brave elves thrown on the line of scrimmage, but ended a turn later with an inglorious failed go for it by Shalik who in turn knocked himself out. Before "Echoes could blink the ball was scooped up and tossed downfield to Naphtali (Who seemed to be the greatest this drive), who couldnt be caught and touched down in the later stages of the half. Finally 3rd time lucky, The final drive of the half saw Veris scoring, with another elf being rushed to the dugout, Teucer sustaining a niggling injury in the drive. A blitz to begin the 2nd half saw Karesh Var swoop in and catch the ball from the kickoff, proving unstopable in the next turn while Whisper became the almost obligatory casualty, Driven into the ground by Ra-Hel and also succumbing to a niggling injury. Despite the best efforts of the "Echoes" players the Stingers scored next, Jaden showing nerves of steel catching in 2 tackle zones then calmly dodging away for the TD. "Echoes" hit back though with a nicely worked TD to Suryet..with.. yep you guessed it another injury, Antoich forced to miss next game thanks to a crushing block from Bekar. 3-3 with 3 turns to go... and anyones game with the Stingers recieving. Sadly for the Stingers but glady for us. A fine kickoff close to the line of scrimmage was fumbled by Frontier and it was all over. Karesh Var swooped and again was unable to be stopped in his drive to the line. The final turns for each team saw a few more Spp's divvied out including yet another Casualty for Ammon, Coach Anu might have been guilty of using the 'Music' for this all important game. Against all odds the "Echoes" had triumphed. Not that their fans seemed to care much. It appears however that the Stingers fans enjoyed this absorbing contest with an influx of new season ticket holders after the game.

This was an awesome game played in the best of spirits.. and my most fun to date. Shatterstar is a great bloke and its fine people like him (still dedicated to the cause despite studying in Jerusalem) which make the SWL so much fun to be part of. Good luck for the rest of the season, my apologies for making it significantly harder for you. :)

Twahnlow Votes:

3 Votes to #3 "Jaden Skyraven"- This arrogant elf who claimed to be 'The Greatest' this game.... well he could be right really. An awesome display from the moment he got involved with a dodging passblock run for an intercept and the first TD of the game. He wasnt done there though putting the Stingers back in the lead at 3-2 (Albeit temporarily) with a catch in plenty of traffic (He has Nerves of Steel this guy) before effortless dodging away for his second TD.

2 Votes to #4 "Gabriel Riverwynde"- This elegant thrower marshalled the troops well from the back... throwing some massive spirals to set up the Stingers TD's.

1 Vote to #1 "Napthali Wildelf"- While his gametime was limited due to his contention with Jaden that it was indeed he that was 'The Greatest', he proved his mettle while on the pitch (often chosen over Jaden due to the Captain Ferryn WyvernSting spending much of the game Knocked out). Collecting the Stingers 2nd TD and being one of the hardier players on the field.
