“Against a team liek the weapon masters you have to defend both against lethal blitzes and possible oneturners.
If eagle had played the way he did second half this one could truely have gone either way, even as it was, 2-0 by halftime i felt threatened at evry kickof.
Wakizashi X started out slow and ate a couple of rerolls in the first half, but also managed to cause 2 bh and 2 rips, i should probably have stuck to my original plan and blasted him with the wizard first opportunity, stillö in the end the wizard ensured my victory and i can only hope my guys play as well next game as they did this and that the killed and injured players wont be missed.”
“What can I say? The elves came here looking to win, while the rats were waaaaay too arrogant first half, looking to bash their way to victory. Nuffle had other plans, and continually gave us only pushes, which the furious claw/rsc SV demanded a second shot to knock his prey down. Coach gave him those shots, which he promptly turned into...more pushes. Meanwhile, the gutters are playing catch with the ball in the backfield, but without rr support it's invariable that they'll drop it, which they do, giving the elves a freebie touchdown to start the game on OUR drive.
Second drive, we continue to roll pushes and drop passes, giving the elves yet another score.
Third drive, two turns to halftime, and I don't know what the coach was drinking, but whatever it was get rid of it! Didn't get rats into scoring position, ended up not scoring, halftime 2-0 elves, elves receiving. Cas tally for our bashiness? One apo'd RIP, one BH, a few ko's who wake up from smelling salts, still a full roster of elves. Things are looking grim...
Second half lineup, blitz! Catch the ball, survive 10-odd dice of blocks, scamper for the score, game now 2-1 elves with almost the entire second half to go. Now is when we start to get our cas in, too, so we just maybe have a shot!
Nope, b/c the elves also get their licks in, and we're just caught out of position to stop them going up 3-1.
Lineup, quick-snap, our near-OTS rat is now a OTS rat for a drive, which he quickly (pun intended) capitalizes upon, score back to within 1 at 3-2, 4 turns to go.
Lineup, but alas, no kickoff help this time, and the elves simply refuse to go down fast enough, and are able to cage the ball away from the rats until the last turn, when their wizard sends a lightning bolt at our lone scoring-capable gutter, blasting him to kingdom-come and ensuring that, even if we should get the ball, we can't score the equalizer. Game over.
***************************
I won't say the better team won, as I'd wager on any given day these two teams could go either way, they were that well balanced. But given my sheer idiocy of play in the first half, for which there is simply no excuse in such an important tournament, the elves deserve the victory. We lost focus, we lost the game. Simple as that. So good luck in the rest of the tourney, or more specifically in your match vs Csonti's orcs. I'm off to fire some niggled players and see what's left of the team...”
