Three times during his second half drive to make it 2-2 he left me an opening to blitz his ball carrier with a tackler; first, a failed dodge followed by a skull ended that hope. Then I managed to knock him over, but failed the dodge to recover the ball. But the third time was magic: blitz to knock over, dodge through multiple tz's to pick up the ball, throw a hail mary long bomb pass all the way down the field, catch the ball in traffic, and dodge/gfi for a 3-1 edge, only 4 turns to go.

This short span left could possibly have given the amazons a draw game, but they had to score and score NOW. Looked like they would, too, what with starting the drive up 11 players to 9, getting the ref, and the amazon dp quickly reducing our numbers from there. But desperation breeds sloppiness, and he failed his catch for the score, elves recover, survive his counter-blitz to free up the ball, and dodge/gfi my way to freedom, guaranteeing the victory. Survive one last blitz, and actually make it 4-1 elves as time runs out.
