“Probably the first time I've been able to stifle a wood elf team. Sure they only started with 9 players (one being BH early in the first half), but stopping even a short-staffed wood elf team is no easy matter.
Ajax Pino has a couple of great blitzers I had to keep my eye on the entire match. Actually had a chance to crowdpush a sidestepping blitzer elf (only stunned), but he did the same with one of my strong beastmen.
The highlight of the game, though, were the Big Guys. Neither had a casualty (with numerous blocks for his treeman and a few even for my minotaur), but each had a trick up their sleeve that, while not totally stopping the other team from scoring, was great at the time.
First came on the first drive of the game. His treeman decided to sprint and dodge into another tackle zone and made it. This made me redirect the goat-charge I was planning.
The next came on the elves first drive of the second half. After a few turns, I thought I had myself positioned well against his leaping, blodging blitzer who had the ball. Then I realized that I hadn't yet used my blitz. Hmm. Who to blitz? It came apparent that with one more block, just needing a pushback, I could blitz with my loin-cloth wearing minotaur.
Ryp not only made his Wild Animal roll, not only made his dodge roll to get away from a pesky elf and on the way to the blodging ball-carrier, he executed a perfect double-pow block and positioned himself right near the ball. Unfortunately, the blitzer wasn't even stunned and two turns later, the elves were able to leap their way into the endzone.
No SIs or RIPs on either side, a win for us and +FF to boot. All against wood-elves. Not bad, not bad at all.”
