“This was the match that would decide who won Super UMT V West and with such an accolade in sight BB-Pad's team did what all his teams do best... capitulate!
The Ravens received first and looked to use their high agility to good effect but a superb Manifest defence shut them out and the rotters were unlucky not to get a defensive TD.
The Manifest beast was a constant threat wrapping up the dark elves with it's tentacles and early in the 1st half the Ravens decided to take drastic action but the snide boot when the beast was down was unfortunately spotted by the ref. Despite calls for leniency the Ravens were reduced to 10 men (already missing 3 players from the win over LurkingGrue's Zealots in the last game) while the beast got up shortly after taking a nap on the pitch. Boo! Hiss! :o)
Manifest started the 2nd half buoyed by the fact that the Ravens AG5 leaper stayed KO'd and eventually scored in T14. Still there looked to be enough time for a vital Darkside equaliser and despite a timely blitz, only Z's fantastic defence stopped the DEs and hit the over-committed Ravens on the break to make it 2-0.
Nuffle wasn't with us on when in attack (we burned 5 RR in the 1st 6 turns) but she (surely Nuffle is too fickle to male!) was certainly smiling at us as our players' armour was broken as we managed to go the entire game with only 1 cas - a BH towards the end that I apoth'd in desperation to retain any hope of equalising.
Thanks for the game Z. Just wait until the next time!!!! :o)

This was actually the closest game in TR this entire season. Each other game had me with at least 2 handicaps each. So with this one, a Palmed Coin allowed me to let the elves go first, choosing to rely on my powerful defense that I have managed to use with this team.
Man, was that defense tested sorely or what! The Ravens rushed past me several times, only to be stopped by the 1 or 2 safety players I had left in the back field.
A close game in which I worried more about the ball, leaving with only 1 casualty to the battered Dark Elves [heh... vented all over the humies last game I guess].
Thanks for the game, and I'm sure it'll be fun next time around as well!
